The judges for the Top 6 performance episode included producer and choreographer Nigel Lythgoe, ballroom expert Mary Murphy, Broadway and television star Christina Applegate, and krumper Lil' C.
SYTYCD Season 8 - Top 6 Dancers with All-Stars
The first dancer to be paired with an All-Star was contemporary dancer Melanie, with All-Star Twitch. They performed a hip hop routine choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon and set to "Roman's Revenge" by Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Wayne. The Red Riding Hood-themed dance started out slow, according to the judges, but Melanie got through it and was able to keep up with Twitch during the fast, intricate movements.
Second to perform was contemporary dancer Sasha with All-Star Kent, last season's runner-up. They danced a contemporary routine choreographed by Tyce DiOrio and set to "Fool of Me" by Me'shell Ndegeocello. The emotionally raw piece brought out Sasha's ability to express herself on stage, and the judges commented that she drew them in, even without the tricks, extensions and turns with which some other dancers overcompensate.
